The 7-day promise

You have 7 days from delivery to decide if you love your saree. Not feeling it? We'll take it back. Here's how this works:

What we can accept back

Yes to returns if:

  • You haven't worn it (trying it on is fine)
  • Tags are still attached
  • It's in the same condition we sent it
  • You have the original packaging
  • It's within 7 days of delivery

Can't return if:

  • It's been worn (we can tell)
  • It smells like perfume, smoke, or anything else
  • There are makeup stains
  • It's been washed or altered
  • Custom-made or personalized pieces
  • Sale items marked "Final Sale"

How to return

  1. Email us at silkwardrobebanaras@gmail.com within 7 days
  2. Tell us why (this helps us improve)
  3. Get your return label (we'll email it)
  4. Pack it carefully (please, we beg you)
  5. Ship it back within 3 days of approval

Refund timeline

  • Quality check: 2-3 days after we receive it
  • Refund processed: Within 24 hours of approval
  • Money in your account: 5-7 business days (depends on your bank)

How you'll get your money back

Same way you paid:

  • Credit/debit card → Back to your card
  • Net banking → Back to your account
  • UPI → Back to your UPI ID
  • Store credit → If you prefer (gets you 10% extra!)

Shipping costs

The honest truth:

  • Return shipping is on you (unless we messed up)
  • Original shipping fee isn't refundable
  • Use a trackable service (trust us on this)

When we cover return shipping

We'll pay if:

  • We sent the wrong item
  • It arrived damaged
  • There's a genuine quality issue
  • The color is completely different from photos

Exchanges

Want a different size/color instead? Sure!

  • Same rules apply
  • We'll adjust the price difference
  • New piece ships after we receive the return

Common questions

"It looks different from the photo"
Screens vary. Silk photographs differently in different lights. Minor variations aren't defect – they're handloom charm. But if it's COMPLETELY different, we'll work it out.

"I ordered it for an event and it didn't arrive in time"
We feel terrible when this happens, but shipping delays aren't grounds for return. Always order with buffer time!

"Can I return part of my order?"
Absolutely. Return what doesn't work, keep what does.

"What if I miss the 7-day window?"
Email us anyway. We're humans, not robots. If you have a good reason, we might make an exception.

Damaged or defective items

Found a problem? Here's what to do:

  1. Don't panic
  2. Take clear photos (in good light, please)
  3. Email us immediately
  4. We'll either replace it or refund fully

International returns

  • Same 7-day policy
  • You handle customs/duties both ways
  • Consider exchange over return (saves on shipping)

The stuff we have to say

  • Refunds don't include any customs duties you paid
  • We reserve the right to refuse returns that don't meet our criteria
  • Multiple returns might flag your account (we notice patterns)
  • Photos on our site are as accurate as possible, but colors may vary
